Pick your problem. See exactly how AxisBoard fixes it.

Five common foot and ankle issues. One board. A specific peg setup and protocol for each.

Your arch doesn't need support. It needs work.

This setup forces your arch and toes to do the work they were built for. Most people with plantar pain have never trained these muscles, that's why it keeps coming back.

Game changer for rehab and prevention

The Sidekick AxisBoard Single-Leg Balance Board is a game changer for not only rehab, but also injury prevention. I mentioned to my son's physical therapist that we had the board and he said it is an excellent tool to add to his recovery and beyond. I highly recommend this for prevention and recovery - as a former D1 athlete, I should have been doing this years ago. My son will be a better, more durable athlete because of it!

Hi Jon, thanks so much for sharing your experience! We’re thrilled the AxisBoard has earned a place in your son’s recovery and training routine. Wishing him a strong, durable return to sport—and we appreciate your recommendation!

Unique and helpful device

It has challenged my balance in ways that other devices and/or exercises haven't been able to. I can definitely feel the work my body is putting into each exercise.

Good tool to become more agile

The Sidekick AxisBoard is a highly effective, single-leg balance board designed specifically for targeted foot and ankle rehabilitation. Unlike traditional wobble boards that often allow the hips and knees to compensate, the AxisBoard isolates the smaller, intrinsic muscles of the foot and ankle. This makes it an exceptional tool for addressing the root causes of chronic pain and instability, rather than just treating the symptoms.
Design and Build Quality
The latest iteration, the AxisBoard 2.0 (or Pro), features a robust design capable of supporting up to 400 pounds. It replaces the older wooden aesthetic and velcro attachments with a durable, sensory-grip surface and snap-in, stackable pegs. This modular peg system allows for over 900 different configurations, enabling users to isolate specific areas of the foot, such as stabilizing the heel while challenging the forefoot.
Performance and Usability
One of the standout features of the AxisBoard is its low profile. Sitting just inches off the ground, it significantly reduces the fear of falling, making it accessible for users of all fitness levels and those early in their rehab journey. Users consistently report noticeable improvements in balance and a reduction in pain from conditions like plantar fasciitis and ankle sprains within just two to four weeks of consistent use.
The Sidekick App and Guidance
A major value add is the included access to the Sidekick app and a comprehensive training guide. These resources provide structured, 10-day programs tailored to specific injuries, removing the guesswork from rehabilitation. Whether you are dealing with achilles tendinitis or general ankle stiffness, the guided routines ensure you are using the correct peg configurations for your specific needs.

Pros and Cons
Targeted Rehab Isolates foot and ankle muscles effectively, though it is not a replacement for full lower-body strength training.
Safety The board is low to the ground, significantly reducing fall risk, but the small pegs can be cumbersome to change and easy to lose.
Support Excellent app and guided programs are included, though consistent use is required to see results.
Versatility Offers over 900 configurations for various injuries, which may be overly specialized for those with general balance needs.

The Sidekick AxisBoard is a thoughtfully designed, highly effective tool for anyone serious about foot and ankle health. While it may be more specialized than a standard balance board, its ability to target specific muscle groups makes it a worthwhile investment for injury recovery and prevention.

This is a pretty cool little gadget! I’m

This is a pretty cool little gadget! I’m a hairstylist so, I’m no stranger to ankle instability, and heel pain. I’m glad to have something supplementary, as opposed to very expensive physical therapy. My only constructive criticism; the tether that attaches the main board plate to the heel plate seems like it could give out over time. Though we obviously would not know how sturdy it is, unless we’ve had it for quite some time. So shouldn’t be a deterrent in purchasing

Wished SIDEKICK was invented when…

Wished SIDEKICK was invented when I was a young athlete!! Water under the bridge, super stoked I have it now!!

I just started using it and ALREADY, I can feel the dormant muscles in my feet and deep lower leg activate. I could even feel my hip muscles and adductors switch on.

My feet feel warm from blood flow with reduced tension. My brain even loves the balance challenge.

Happy I listened to my gut and made the investment. Can’t wait to see how Sidekick improves my overall feet function, posture and performance!

A superior product for serious athletes

A superior product that has more than met my expectations. I used AI to help me develop a program using the board for my foot and ankle issues, hoping this will help with my running.

Great for Improving Balance and Stability

I’ve been using the AxisBoard single-leg balance board to work on my balance, stability, and lower-body control, particularly to support my pickleball game. It’s a useful tool for challenging single-leg balance and engaging the muscles around the ankles and legs. I like that it’s simple to use and easy to incorporate into a regular exercise routine. A great addition to balance and stability training.

Great for injury recovery.

Great for injury recovery! The board is great for strengthening my ankle after a break and severe sprain. The video clips are perfect for showing me the correct way to do each exercise.

Disc issue (Lower Back)

I have been dealing with a disc issue in my lower back and that has caused tightness in muscles around my left hip and also my hamstring. I am also dealing with less ROM when squatting. I believe using this tool to improve ROM and strengthening weak muscles will help me deal with my back pain.

I just started using this product and wow, it is great so far.

I just started using this product as I was using something similar before. However, the Sidekick with it's attached guide and many options is far superior to the boards I was using prior. I really like the step by step path for my desired improvement. As of now, I would highly recommend this to someone who needs to recover from a foot related injury or needs to work on strengthening their foot strength

Just starting out

Just starting out. I have posterior tibial tendinitis likely from training in the wrong shoes and having flat feet. I can definitely feel the exercises. Looking forward to more mobility in my ankles. I had pretty good mobility due to trail running but stopped for a period of time when injured. Hoping to get relief and stay injury free by adding this to my workout routine

Feels better every time

I'm using the axis board to recover from a partial Achilles tendon tear that developed into tendinosis. The axis board gives me a structured plan, increasing in difficulty over several weeks, providing stretches and strengthening movements that I haven't been able to emulate anywhere else.

Regain Strength & Mobility

It has been the perfect tool to strengthen my foot and ankle to help with my Achilles issues. I realized how weak all the little muscles in my foot were and the AxisBoard has been amazing to help me regain the strength and stability that I have lost.

This is an updated review

This is an updated review now that I have had time to use it.

I am having issues keeping the the strap between the two boarss at the shorter setting. All movement causes slippage which makes the boards not fit my step. I have to adjust my foot on the boards. It is really more adapted to bigger feet. I think offering the board in two different sizes would be more beneficial. Having a smaller foot while using the boards means my ankle is not at the right angle for stacked focus, and my step is not aligned right for regular focus work. Even if the lengthening strap stayed in place in the shorter setting, the boards are still too far apart to fit my foot best. If not two sized boards then maybe different lengths of the strap that.actually stay in place and can be made shorter than the current setting. I do feel muscles working in my leg and foot working when using the board, but I also feel my ankle is not in the best position (I feel the bone grinding or clunking on other bone) for some of the configurations.

Hi Angela, thank you for your detailed feedback. We appreciate your suggestions regarding sizing and strap options, and we'll consider these for future improvements. We're glad you're feeling the muscles working and hope we can help you find a better fit soon!

very impressed

Am I very impressed with the design and construction. It makes it a very versatile PT tool, and has added additional challenge to my “pre-hab” exercises. My teenage daughter has gotten very interested in it too and is using it to strengthen her ankles to prevent sprains.

It looks easy until you put your foot on it

It looks easy until you put your foot on it. Can really feel areas of the foot engaging that you didn't even know you had. This is really helping since I had surgery on both knees and feel very flat footed.

I’ve just started using this, and am optimistic

I’ve just started using this, and am optimistic it will help. I didn’t realize at first that I could make a separate program in the app for each foot, so my first program took almost an hour to do. Now that I’ve made a separate program for each foot, the exercises are targeted better and it is much easier to fit into my day.

I would like it if the exercises in the program were ordered better to reduce the adjustments of the little feet needed between them (e.g. if two exercises use the same setup, they should be back to back).

Questions? We got you.

  • What does the AxisBoard actually do?

The AxisBoard helps improve foot strength, balance, and ankle stability by introducing controlled variability into your lower leg movement. That variability wakes up the small stabilizing muscles in your feet and ankles, which supports better mobility and joint control. Over time, this can help improve overall lower leg function, reduce stiffness, and support recovery from injuries like plantar fasciitis or ankle sprains.

  • Is the AxisBoard safe to use?

Yes. The AxisBoard is designed for progressive, at-your-own-pace training. It’s safe to use with a nearby support like a wall or chair, and all routines in the guide are developed by a licensed physical therapist.

  • What shoe sizes does the AxisBoard work for?

The AxisBoard fits most adult shoe sizes comfortably — from about women's size 5 up to men's size 13. If you’re on the smaller or larger end, you might just need to tweak your foot placement a bit, but it’ll still work just fine.

  • Can I use it on hard floors or carpet?

You can use it on both! Just make sure the surface is flat and stable.

  • What makes this different from other balance boards or wobble boards?

Most wobble boards focus on general balance, but they don’t train the small stabilizing muscles in your lower legs. The AxisBoard is built for targeted single-leg training, helping you isolate and strengthen the muscles that support your feet and ankles. That means more control and better results — whether you’re recovering from an injury or working on improving your balance.

  • Can this help with my injury?

Very likely. The AxisBoard is designed to support recovery from a wide range of foot and ankle issues — especially when you're dealing with things like pain, stiffness, or instability. The included guide provides routines tailored to different injuries, helping you build strength, improve mobility, and move with more confidence.

  • What warranty does AxisBoard have?

AxisBoard comes with a lifetime warranty covering manufacturing defects, cracks, and component failures. We also cover all shipping costs on warranty claims. To file a claim, emailinfo@sidekicktool.comwith your order number and a photo of the issue.

  • How often should I use it?

3–5 times a week is a good place to start. Even just 5–10 minutes everyday can make a huge difference over time.

  • How long until I see results?

Many users begin noticing improvements in balance and muscle control within 1–2 weeks. Consistency is key — the more regularly you use it, the more noticeable your results will be.

  • Can I use my HSA/FSA card at Sidekick?

Yes! We've partnered with Truemed to make this easy. During checkout, you'll see the option to pay with your HSA/FSA funds through Truemed's quick eligibility check.

  • Can I use my regular credit card with Truemed at checkout?

Yes. Truemed will send you instructions on how to submit for reimbursement from your HSA/FSA administrator.
