Frequently Asked Questions
PRE-PURCHASE QUESTIONS
Short Answer: Our tools are based upon a 2000 year old Chinese technique known as Gua Sha. Clinical studies have shown that this technique is effective for pain relief, increased blood flow and much more.
Long Answer: Whilst the designs of our tools are new and unique, the technique they have been based upon have over 2000 years of history. The technique (known as Gua Sha) is becoming more popular in Western treatments and you’ll often find Chiropractors and Physiotherapists using similar techniques, all based off of Gua Sha. Many clinical studies have been conducted to determine the effectiveness of this treatment, and it was shown that pain relief and increased blood flow, amongst others were all benefits from this treatment.
Results from a clinical trial 7 days after treatment showed a 26% overall decrease in pain and a 51% decrease in pain related to movement. By contrast, a control group that received heat therapy reported an 8% overall decrease in pain and 10% reduction in pain associated with movement.

Yes, absolutely! This is called Petechiae and is the blood leaking into your skin (for that reason, we strongly suggest that your tools and skin are cleaned thoroughly before and after use).
The redness is a good sign and indicates that an area needs to be worked on. After redness occurs, if you continue working on that area, it can become purple like a bruise. We do not recommend getting to this point.

Most people will use an HSA/FSA card provided by their insurance company to make their purchase.
If you do not have one, others have been able to claim with their insurance after their purchase. This is generally done by submitting the receipt for reimbursement to your insurance provider.
As each provider has different steps or requirements for submission, it is recommended for you to reach out to your insurance rep for clarification prior to your purchase.

A Letter of Medical Necessity (LMN) is a statement from a healthcare provider explaining why a specific treatment, medication, or device is essential for a patient's health. It helps support the need for the product or service based on the patient's condition.
The letter typically includes patient details, diagnosis, treatment explanation, and the provider’s information. Insurance companies or government programs often require it to approve coverage for non-standard treatments.
As we are not licensed to diagnose or access the detailed medical information needed, you will need to contact your medical provider to obtain an LMN if required by your HSA/FSA provider.

Of course, we're happy to provide free return labels to customers from the USA or Canada for returns made within 60 days of purchase. Unfortunately, at this time we are unable to support international returns.
If you're unsure about the submission requirements for your HSA/FSA provider, we recommend reaching out to them for confirmation before making your purchase. This can help avoid any unnecessary stress.

AFTER PURCHASE QUESTIONS
The Curve is made of stone so it is fragile and can break if dropped. We recommend storing your Curve in its case when not in use to protect it from accidental damage or breakage.
Because of the fragility of this product, our Curve scrapers come with a one-year warranty that covers a one-time replacement for accidental damage.
Because of the fragility of this product, our Curve scrapers come with a one-year warranty that covers a one-time replacement for accidental damage.
Our Curve muscle scrapers are made from bian stone and each tool is hand carved and polished. This means no two Curves will be exactly alike and you may see some white lines or small bumps on your tool. This is part of the natural stone characteristics and does not affect the performance of the tool.
The Stainless Steel Scraper Lifetime Warranty gives you peace of mind that your tool will last for years to come. We will warranty your tool against any manufacturing defects from the process of steel casting. What this means is if your tools flake, rust, or crack we will happily replace them for you. This warranty does not cover scratches or dings and dents on the tool or bevel of the tool that happen after you have received your scraper. We highly recommend that you store and transport your tool in one of our cases to avoid any possible damage.
