I've always considerd myself someone with above average balance, but after using the tool for a week my hip flexors were sore on my left side. I had no idea I had a weak link there. Anyways I'm going to continue using the tool and see what other benefits will present itself. Also, don't buy the cheaper Amazon one, there is a noticable quality difference.
We are experimenting with all the different ways to use it, and are impressed with how much motion we notice in our feet now. We are looking forward to seeing the benefits.
The Sidekick Echo muscle scraper is very helpful in relieving pain and increasing circulation, thus reducing the neuropathy symptoms I have been experiencing.
I like this better than the roll on I used when I first got my Side Kick tool. I like the change.
It works really well and it helps make running better when I can get the knots out
LOVE this product! After using it daily for one week, running has become so much easier, and even quite enjoyable. I am training for my first marathon, and I don't know if I would be able to physically do it without the help of this product.
What a great book. I dont have the official AxisBoard but this book is the best training for anyone with a similar device. Worth the price.
I've been using the axis board for just a few days and have already noticed some relief with my chronic insertional achilles pain. I know it's working because I did a hike with 1,900' of vertical gain (mostly rock-hopping ADK trail) and my achilles barely acted up like it usually does. The board is so fun to use and I look forward to using it every day. I set up my phone with a timer and start doing the simple exercises and the time flies! (I find myself often exercising on it for longer than the recommended 3 minutes/day). The low impact yet strengthening aspect of it is what is healing me, I think. I truly do feel like it has activated some micro muscles, not only on my foot but higher up the chain (i.e. calf, hip, glute), in a way that doesn't irritate my achilles AT ALL.
Love it so much. Wish I purchased sooner.
Thank you!
I’ve had multiple Toe Spreaders over the years - they’re the best! So easy to pop on while having my morning coffee, or doing chores around the house. Small investment - big impact!
As a runner, homesteader and server, my ankles have to deal with a lot of action! Occasional ankle and knee pain convinced me to give this Axis Board a try, to build up stabilizing muscles to support me in my endeavors. It hasn’t been long but I’m eager to continue playing around with all the different exercises to see if it helps long term.
I’ve used Gua Sha scrapers for years now, but never anything made of surgical steel. To be honest I’ve been waiting years to invest in Sidekick tools because of the expense. However the array of tools make it so easy for me to get into all the places that are usually more labourious with other tools. I wish I did it sooner! My favourite has to be the Bow - so much easier getting into the hips/quads/hamstrings. I also love the Eclipse and use it daily around my ankles and feet/calves. Extremely happy with my purchase.
It only takes a little bit of the emollient to support all different scraping processes, which is nice knowing it will last for a while. Non-greasy and even leaves skin feeling nice afterwards/all day. Will definitely purchase more when I run out!
I’ve been struggling with an elbow ice pack which is stiff & unruly. The Freeze Band is amazing. It’s thin and flexible. Easy to use & effective!
I ordered this for a friend who is recovering from an Achilles cross sectional tear during the 2024 NYC Marathon. He was able to finish the race despite the pain, and with the SideKick, he has been able to access a range of mobility he has not felt for months.
Changing my 4/5 to 5/5 as Sidekick contacted me and sent replacements for the damaged sticks. I fully recommend the product, as you’re safely backed up with a great service.
==== My original review =====
The product, the packaging, and the configurations are great overall. The tool, whatever your activity, you need it even if you're not injured, is great for prevention, as it focuses on the most neglected structures of the lower chain. I used a Bosu ball before for ankle reinforcement, but it is not enough, as it does not isolate the sections of the foot like the AxisBoard.
Unfortunately, I had to give it 4 stars because after a week of careful use, one of the stick's plastic corners is not properly glued and starting to come off.
Hi Fernanda,
Thank you for your detailed feedback and for highlighting the benefits of the AxisBoard! We’re thrilled to hear it’s been a valuable tool for strengthening and prevention.
We sincerely apologize for the issue with the stick’s plastic corner—this isn’t the quality standard we strive for. We’ve just reached out to you via email to address this and find a solution. Your satisfaction is our priority, and we’ll make this right!
Thanks again for your support and honest review. Please check your inbox, and don’t hesitate to reply if you need anything else.
Best, Camilo on behalf of Sidekick
It is simple and effective. I've been struggling with Achilles Tendonosis and have been building back my Achilles and flat feet. I notice the strength in my feet and ankles on my daily walks. Long term solution for sure.
The complete package is worth it. You can find similar products, but the step by step book is worth the extra money.
Great product. Many different stability options with ease to follow instruction. Great stability and strength exercises. Very happy. Easy to take anywhere.
